HAD 37: New Year's Eve Streamathon

For those who don’t know, our show tries to be an educational podcast about beer and spirits in which the listeners learn along with the hosts on a given topic from beer styles and drinking etiquette to history and tastings. We post audio-only episodes every two weeks with some special stuff thrown in here and there.

Swag! Rate us on iTunes by giving four or five stars, putting your least favorite beer name in the subject of the review, and your favorite beer’s description in the body of the review. We will pick at random out of those submitted and send a small swag bag of brewery stuff to the winner!

Beer Tasting During the Drinking Game

Tasting: New Holland Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Imperial Stout, ABV 11%, IBU 31, RateBeer 98/80

Description: Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Game: Suds or Duds

We have a list of 13 beers with stats and breweries. Brittany is the game master and will give one of the beers on the list and ask Christopher, Justin, and Casey if it’s real or fake. A vote is taken and whoever is correct gets 10 points. We keep going down the list and tally the scores at the end and the person with the most points wins… nothing.
