Two episodes in a row about this. . . I can’t do it. I won’t. You can’t make me . . . Fine, it’s another brewery episode today, and it’s all about . . . Anheuser-Busch. We’re going to try and stay impartial as we talk about this giant of the industry. So come in and have a drink . . . There I did the intro, now let go of my wife.

WHAT WE’RE DRINKING:

Brittany

  • Beer: Elysian Space Dust IPA

  • Brewery: Elysian Brewing (AB InBev)

  • Style: Imperial IPA

  • ABV: 8.2%

  • IBUs: 73

  • RateBeer Score: 96/84

  • Brewery’s description: Manic IPA series. The hopping is pure starglow energy, with Chinook to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo.

Justin

  • Beer: Breckenridge Nitro Vanilla Porter

  • Brewery: Breckenridge Brewery (AB InBev)

  • Style: Porter (Nitro)

  • ABV: 4.7%

  • IBUs: 16

  • RateBeer Score: 60/45

  • Brewery’s description: Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Christopher

  • Beer: Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale

  • Brewery: Goose Island Beer Company (AB-InBev)

  • Style: Wheat Ale

  • ABV: 4.2%

  • IBUs: 20

  • RateBeer Score: 23/37

  • Brewery’s description: Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Casey

  • Beer: Bud Light and Clamato: Chelada

  • Brewery: Anheuser-Busch InBev

  • Style: Canned Beer Cocktail (Spice/Herb/Veg)

  • ABV: 4.2%

  • IBUs: Probably close to 0 (it should be)

  • RateBeer Score: 0 nothing else, just 0

  • Brewery’s description: Enjoy the best of both worlds: a refreshing Bud Light and the unique flavor of Clamato. Drink a Red One, ready to go or use your favorite ingredients to make it yours - wherever, whenever!
